Colchester Schools already offer an amazing range of opportunities for out of school hours learning either before, at lunchtime or after the school day.
The Colchester Children's University™ is already working with schools,
validating
exisiting
provision and building a pool of Learning Destinations where children can immediately start to collect stamps for their Passport to Learning.
Any child aged 7-14 years, without exception, can participate in Children's University™ activities.
We should perhaps point out here that Schools become a
Restricted
Learning Destination.
School buildings are not publicly accessible and as such clubs running before, at lunchtimes or after school are available to pupils at the school only....unless a specific arrangement has been made to work with another local school and it's pupils.
Using the
"Planning for Learning
- A National Framework for Validating Learning" document, devised with the support of Professor John MacBeath of the University of Cambridge, we can work together, through a process of self-evaluation, to ensure that the highest quality of learning is provided in all Children's University™ learning activities, whether delivered on-site in schools or off-site by community providers.
It's easy to get
involved - contact us to arrange a meeting.
We'll talk through what's involved and explore activities that can become Children's University™ learning.
